Elevate at IADT

Elevate supports postdoctoral and doctoral researchers, and Masters by Research students to develop practice-based, scholarly, interdisciplinary, socially engaged and impactful research.

Framed by three interrelated Creation Bridges in Screen, Design, and Policy, each underpinned by a commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Elevate research activities contribute directly to IADT’s vision to lead as Ireland’s University for the Creative Industries.

The Elevate Programme has appointed leading IADT academics and researchers as ambassadors for the Creation Bridges in Screen, Design and Policy. These Creation Bridge Leads are participating in national and European research networks such as the Open Source Innovation Summit, Horizon Europe Cluster Two meetings, and the European Research and Innovation Days; contributions to industry interviews and public panels; and active engagement in IADT and Elevate initiatives, such as judging the Elevate branding competition.

Screen

Growing IADT’s existing expertise in Animation, Expanded Screen Practices, Creative Technologies, AR/VR, Immersive Media Technologies, Gaming/Digital Content, Broadcast and Production.

Design

Consolidating IADT’s expertise in Communication, Information, Strategic and Organisational Design, 3D Design, UI/UX, Spatial, Speculative, Environmental Design, Visual Arts, Critical Design Approaches, Design Thinking and Artistic Research.

Policy

Promoting evidence-based research, informing and shaping political and civic debate on the social and economic impacts of policy on the Creative and Cultural Industries and upon culture and society, through the lens of EDI, Social Sciences, Thought Leadership and Strategic Planning.

Grow

GROW is the research growth, training, engagement and impact engine, which will host our academics, teams of researchers, and a suite of training packages, and develop networks for our Academic Residency and Industry Fellowship programmes to seed and grow the next areas of specialisations.

Elevate supports Postdoctoral Fellows, PhD candidates and Masters by Research students who are exploring how creativity and policy shape cultural, social, and technological futures.

Combined, their research explores how creativity can inform inclusive policymaking, cultural sustainability, screen media innovation and EDI, strengthening IADT’s leadership in creative research and education.
