At IADT, innovation and creativity go hand in hand. Through the IADT Elevate programme, we’re building a dynamic research and innovation ecosystem tailored specifically for the Creative Industries. The Innovate Vision Lab is a cornerstone of this initiative — a space where research, technology, and creativity converge to shape the future of the sector.

As part of a wider four-year project to strengthen IADT’s research and innovation capacity, the Lab places a strong emphasis on sustainable innovation, while ensuring that equality, diversity, and inclusion are embedded in every activity.

The Innovation Lab isn’t just a facility — it’s a platform for hands-on workshops, collaborative projects, and bold exploration of emerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and motion capture. It also supports local enterprise engagement, empowering Ireland’s creative industries to thrive on a global stage.

We’re thrilled to highlight Cassette Vision, one of our Innovation Voucher applicants, who are renowned for their expertise in high-end video production, imagery, and screen effects.

Now, they’re expanding their creative horizons by exploring the power of Motion Capture performance tracking — technology that allows human movement to be captured, analysed, and applied across multiple scenarios.

Working within our state-of-the-art new lab, Cassette Vision will have access to:

• A dedicated motion capture area

• A cutting-edge LED volume shooting space

• Flexible motion tracking equipment to capture and analyse movement with precision

With this setup, Cassette Vision can uncover new creative possibilities, generating insights that will shape the future of storytelling, production, and performance.
