Laser Protection Adviser Ltd - Enterprise Ireland, Innovation Voucher

Overview

Led by Damien Byrne, with research assistant Fionn McArdle, IADT collaborated with Laser Protection Adviser Ltd (LPA) – founded by Dr. Josette Galligan – to design and prototype engaging eLearning modules for laser safety training targeted at healthcare professionals. The project aimed to merge pedagogical best practice with multimedia-rich storytelling to enhance learner engagement, support knowledge retention, and modernise the delivery of specialist clinical training.

Challenge

Healthcare professionals, the target audience, valued clinical relevance and flexibility in training but found existing courses uninspiring and inconsistent. LPA sought to develop interactive, pedagogically sound eLearning modules that maintained regulatory integrity while catering to diverse learner needs.

IADT’s Approach

Building on a previous voucher collaboration, IADT designed new content structures and interactive prototypes featuring animation, motion graphics, video, and audio elements. The team developed a series of on-screen frameworks tailored to different learning styles and professional contexts, while ensuring adherence to LPA’s brand and compliance standards.

Impact

The collaboration produced a prototype framework for scalable eLearning course development, providing LPA with a foundation for future training content creation. The project strengthened LPA’s ability to efficiently produce engaging, regulatory-compliant educational materials.
