Dr. Judith Pernin
Dr. Judith Pernin is a researcher with a background in Chinese Studies and Film Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in History and Civilization from the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris), with a thesis on Chinese independent documentary film practices (1990-2010). Based in Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan for over a decade, she wrote extensively on protests, documentary cinema and visual culture. In Ireland, she took part in several EU projects (WIRE, Crescine) and conducts research on screen policies and the Irish film industry, particularly the creative documentary film sector.
